L’IRES PIEMONTE è un istituto di ricerca che svolge la sua attività d’indagine in campo socio-economico e territoriale, fornendo un supporto all’azione di programmazione della Regione Piemonte e delle altre istituzioni ed enti locali piemontesi. Costituito nel 1958 su iniziativa della Provincia e del Comune di Torino con la partecipazione di altri enti pubblici e privati, l’IRES ha visto successivamente l’adesione di tutte le Province piemontesi; dal 1991 l’Istituto è un ente strumentale della Regione Piemonte. Giuridicamente l’IRES è configurato come ente pubblico regionale dotato di autonomia funzionale disciplinato dalla legge regionale n. 43 del 3 settembre 1991 e s.m.i. introdotte dalla legge regionale n. 3 dell’8 febbraio 2016.Costituiscono oggetto dell’attività dell’Istituto:la relazione annuale sull’andamento socio-economico e territoriale della regione;l’osservazione, la documentazione e l’analisi delle principali grandezze socio-economiche e territoriali del Piemonte;rassegne congiunturali sull’economia regionale;ricerche e analisi per il piano regionale di sviluppo;ricerche di settore per conto della Regione Piemonte e di altri enti;analisi e valutazione delle politiche pubbliche regionali;missioni valutative per soddisfare le esigenze conoscitive del Consiglio regionale;studi preparatori per l’evoluzione e il miglioramento delle politiche regionali;svolgimento delle funzioni in materia sanitaria trasferite all’Istituto (L.R. 8/ 2013).
IRES Piemonte is a research institute that conducts studies in the socio-economic and territorial fields, providing support to the planning activities of the Regione Piemonte and other local institutions and authorities in Piedmont. Established in 1958 on the initiative of the Province and the Municipality of Turin, with the participation of other public and private entities, IRES later saw the accession of all the provinces of Piedmont. Since 1991, the Institute has been an instrumental body of the Regione Piemonte. Legally, IRES is configured as a regional public entity with functional autonomy, governed by Regional Law no. 43 of September 3, 1991, as subsequently amended by Regional Law no. 3 of February 8, 2016.The Institute’s activities include:the annual report on the socio-economic and territorial trends of the region;monitoring, documentation, and analysis of the main socio-economic and territorial indicators of Piedmont;periodic reports on regional economic conditions;research and analysis for the regional development plan;sector-specific studies on behalf of the Regione Piemonte and other entities;analysis and evaluation of regional public policies;evaluation missions to meet the knowledge needs of the Regional Council;preparatory studies for the evolution and improvement of regional policies;carrying out functions in the healthcare sector transferred to the Institute (Regional Law 8/2013).
