Bernie Sanders will attend the 2026 Turin International Book Fair to discuss his new book Fighting Oligarchy (Chiarelettere, out May 12th). He will join a conversation with Il Post editor-in-chief Francesco Costa at 6:30 pm on May 16th in the Auditorium.
“I launched the Fighting Oligarchy tour in January 2025”, the American senator writes at the beginning of the book, “and I was immediately amazed by the passion it inspired. Across the nation, in both red and blue states, people flocked in numbers I had never seen before.
They were there to join the fight against Trump and the oligarchs, and to take back control of the government and the country.”
The longest-serving independent member of Congress in US history, Sanders ran in the Democratic primary in 2016 and 2020. He served as mayor of Burlington, Vermont, for eight years, a member of the House of Representatives for sixteen years, and is now serving his fourth term in the Senate.
In Fighting Oligarchy, Senator Bernie Sanders passionately denounces the injustices and degenerations of an administration that undermines democracy to enrich itself and strengthen its influence.
Reservations for the event at the Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino open on Wednesday, April 29th.
