The Tom Grass Spirit of Adventure Literary Prize is an annual international prize for a short piece of stand-alone prose that explores adventure in its broadest sense.
Open to emerging writers aged 25 and over, the prize welcomes stand-alone prose in either Fiction or Non-Fiction of 1,500–3,000 words. Submissions may be adapted from a longer work, provided they are satisfying to read as a complete piece in their own right.
The prize invites writers from all walks of life and welcomes a wide range of forms, including short stories, essays, memoir, reportage, historical investigation, and other hybrid or cross-genre work, so long as the writing reflects the sensibility of the prize.
The judging panel includes experienced literary professionals, among them two literary agents. All submissions are read with care.
