The shortlisted candidates of the Aficionado Award at the Rights Centre

Wednesday, May 14th

Respecting what has already become a tradition, the three shortlisted candidates of the Aficionado Award were introduced to the Rights Centre publishing professional audience on Wednesday, May 14th.

Here is what the preliminary jury said about the Rights Centre in general, the award ceremony and the three candidates: La Disparition, Seagull Books and zoraLit.

I had the most wonderful time in Turin, both in the Right Centre and during the presentation of the shortlist of the Aficionado Awards! The Rights Centre manages to feel lively as well as relaxed at the same time, a fantastic opportunity to meet or reconnect with agents and publishers.

Peter Van Der Haag of De bezige Bij

The Turin Book Fair feels like a deeply European fair, international in its reach. The Rights Centre was both busy and relaxed. I am very grateful for my time there and for the opportunity to be involved with the Aficionado Awards and to see how well received our three candidates’ presentations were.

Laurence Laluyaux of the RCW Literary Agency

What unites them, I believe, is a shared faith in the value of a literary community—something that deeply resonates with the spirit of this award, born to spotlight excellence within the publishing industry and foster a sustainable and inclusive exchange of ideas around the critical questions that shape our field.
