IBBY, International Board on Book for Young People, è un’organizzazione internazionale no-profit, fondata nel 1953 da Jella Lepman, con lo scopo di facilitare l’incontro tra libri, bambini e bambine e ragazzi e ragazze. IBBY crede che i libri possano aiutare bambini e adolescenti ad avere una migliore qualità di vita, per questo si impegna a garantire e difendere il loro diritto ad accedere ai libri e alla lettura, in particolare nelle aree disagiate e remote. Attualmente è presente in 85 paesi nel mondo. IBBY Italia è la sezione nazionale.
