Scrivere è una cura per l’anima. Cura e scrittura sono le mie coordinate di viaggio. Curo perché sono pediatra, scrivo per aver cura della persona e del terapeuta che vorrei essere, capace di gentilezza, dialogo ed empatia. Scrivo per vivere la magia della penna che scorre sul foglio come se avesse vita autonoma mentre silenzio e pace riempiono lo spazio dentro e intorno a me. Scrivo per lenire ferite e riuscire a perdonare chi le ha procurate. Ed è di perdono, gentilezza, dialogo, anche silenzio ma soprattutto pace, che abbiamo bisogno, più che mai in questo momento. Trasmetto questo sfaccettato messaggio dalle pagine del romanzo che quest’anno porto al Salone del libro, il primo come self-publisher. Ed ecce narratio: “Guatemala, anno del Signore 1975”.Mi auguro che la sua lettura aiuti a evadere, sognare, dimenticare, commuoversi, immedesimandosi nelle vicende dei protagonisti e in quelle difficili del loro paese, sorprendendosi di una natura tanto capace di meraviglie quanto e più di furia incontrastabile, godendosi l’incanto degli antichi templi Maya. Ho seminato umanità e amore in tutti i personaggi anche in quelli più biechi e cattivi, ho messo mano nella mano un prete e una sciamana, religione cattolica e culti della tradizione Indio; soprattutto ho patito la sofferenza inflitta a un popolo.E se è vero che “chi scrive è destinato ai Campi Elisi” (Duccio Demetrio), il mio impegno e la mia dedizione hanno già ricevuto il loro riconoscimento per l’altra vita, ma basterà anche un solo lettore per ottenerlo in questa.

Writing is a cure for the soul. Care and writing are my travel coordinates. I cure because I am a pediatrician, I write to take care of the person and the therapist I would like to be, capable of kindness, dialogue and empathy. I write to experience the magic of the pen that flows on the sheet as if it had an autonomous life while silence and peace fill the space inside and around me. I write to soothe wounds and be able to forgive those who caused them. And we really need forgiveness, kindness, dialogue, even silence but above all peace, more than ever at this time. I transmit this multifaceted message from the pages of the novel that I am bringing to the Salone del Libro this year, the first as a self-publisher. And ecce narratio: “Guatemala, year of the Lord 1975”. I hope that reading it helps you escape, dream, forget, be moved, identifying with the events of the protagonists and the difficult ones of their country, being surprised by a nature as capable of wonders as and more of unstoppable fury, enjoying the enchantment of the ancient Mayan temples. I have sown humanity and love in all the characters even in the most evil and evil ones, I have put a priest and a shaman hand in hand, the Catholic religion and cults of the Indio tradition; above all I have endured the suffering inflicted on a people. And if it is true that "whoever writes is destined for the Elysian Fields" (Duccio Demetrio), my commitment and my dedication have already received their recognition for the next life, but even just one reader will be enough to obtain it in this one.
