Il PLM nacque nel 1947 da una geniale intuizione di alcuni studenti universitari ed è cronologicamente – dopo il Bagutta e il Viareggio – il terzo Premio letterario in Italia.Il Premio Letterario Massarosa, che prevede un'unica sezione dedicata ad un'opera prima di narrativa, si caratterizza per il doppio sistema di votazione: vi è una giuria tecnica, che seleziona le opere prime edite che partecipano al concorso e tra queste sceglie la cinquina finalista; sarà poi la giuria popolare a decretare in diretta, nel corso della suggestiva cerimonia finale, il libro vincitore.
The PLM was born in 1947 from a brilliant intuition of some university students and is chronologically - after Bagutta and Viareggio - the third literary prize in Italy.The Massarosa Literary Prize, which includes a single section dedicated to a first work of fiction, is characterized by the double voting system: there is a technical jury, which selects the first published works that participate in the competition and among these chooses the five finalists; the popular jury will then decree the winning book live during the suggestive final ceremony.
