Russi, bulgari, romeni, polacchi ma anche francesi, portoghesi, tedeschi: la casa editrice Voland è impegnata da oltre 25 anni a far scoprire ai lettori italiani le grandi letterature ancora poco frequentate, curandone in modo particolare le traduzioni. Nel suo catalogo Z. Prilepin, M. Cărtărescu, G. Gospodinov, P. Djian, D.M. Cardoso, P. Fournel e naturalmente A. Nothomb di cui Voland ha pubblicato l’intera produzione. Pochi gli italiani, ma tutti di grande qualità.
Voland is an independent publishing house founded in 1994, whose main interest is translation. The first aim of the publisher, the Slavist Daniela Di Sora, was to spread the Russian and Eastern European authors in Italy. In time we introduced to the Italian readers great writers from France, Spain and Portugal along with those from Eastern Europe. In our catalogue there are Amélie Nothomb, Mircea Cărtărescu, Georgi Gospodinov and many more. In 2002 the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism awarded us for achieving with our publications and translations “an important role in cultural mediation”. We won in 2010 the Russia-Italia prize for the translation of Eccovi Mosca, by Prigov; in 2015, the Gorky Prize with Chadži-Murat by Tolstoj; in 2016 the Von Rezzori Prize with Ala Destra by Cărtărescu. Our most important collections are: Amazzoni, a female point of view; Intrecci, tales from different latitudes; Confini, focused on travels; Sírin, our Slavic authors.
